Amid the global wave of upgrading travel and residence products, we have successfully exported five 25-square-meter Apple cabins to the United States with our innovative design and exquisite craftsmanship of distinctive accommodation equipment, creating a unique accommodation experience for a local tourist hotel. These Apple pods have won high recognition from customers and tourists with their novel designs, comfortable living environments and efficient installation modes.

Project background and customer requirements

The tourism market in the United States is booming. Tourists’ demands for accommodation are no longer confined to traditional hotel rooms; they are more in pursuit of personalized and nature-integrated unique experiences. A tourist hotel located near the Grand Canyon in Colorado plans to add a number of distinctive accommodation units within its hotel complex to enhance its competitiveness and attract more tourists seeking novel experiences.

After conducting research on various distinctive accommodation products, the hotel was impressed by the unique shape and modular design advantages of the Apple Cabin and got in touch with us to reach a cooperation agreement. The customer requires that these 5 sets of 25-square-meter apple pods have the following features: they are round and beautiful in shape and can coexist harmoniously with the surrounding natural landscape. The interior is fully functional, including a sleeping area, a leisure area and a simple bathroom, meeting the basic living needs of tourists. It has a sturdy structure and can withstand local strong winds and temperature differences. The installation period is short and it does not affect the normal operation of the hotel. At the same time, it must comply with relevant building codes and safety standards in the United States, such as ASTM steel structure standards, NFPA fire protection standards, etc.

Product design and customized optimization

In response to the customer’s demands and the climatic characteristics of the Colorado region in the United States (hot and dry summers, cold and windy winters, and large temperature differences between day and night), our design team has specially customized a 25-square-meter apple cabin.

The exterior design features smooth arc-shaped lines, with an overall shape resembling an apple. The exterior walls are made of light gray fluorocarbon-coated aluminum plates, which not only have excellent weather resistance and corrosion resistance but also can reflect sunlight, reducing the temperature inside the cabin in summer. Installing solar photovoltaic panels on the roof can meet part of the electricity demand inside the cabin, which is in line with the hotel’s environmental protection concept.

The interior layout is compact yet comfortable. The sleeping area is equipped with a 1.8-meter-wide double bed, and an embedded storage cabinet is set at the head of the bed to save space. A foldable sofa and a small coffee table are placed in the leisure area for tourists to rest and enjoy the view. The bathroom area adopts a dry-wet separation design, is equipped with water-saving toilets and shower facilities, and is also provided with a small water heater.

In terms of structure, a high-strength light steel frame is adopted as the main structure, and the surface of the frame is galvanized, which can effectively resist the erosion of the local climate. The wall adopts a composite structure, which not only ensures excellent thermal insulation and heat preservation performance but also has outstanding sound insulation effect, creating a quiet living environment for tourists.

To adapt to the power system in the United States, all the appliances in the Apple cabin are configured with the standard voltage of the United States. The heating and cooling system adopts inverter air conditioners, which can automatically adjust the operating state according to the temperature inside the cabin to ensure a comfortable temperature inside the cabin.

Cross-border logistics and transportation guarantee

To ensure the safe and punctual arrival of the five Apple Pods at the locations of our American customers, we have formulated a meticulous cross-border logistics plan.

Adopting a combined transportation mode of “sea and land”, it departs from the port and is transported to the Port of Los Angeles, USA by a 40HQ container ship.

Before loading, each set of apple pods should be numbered and listed in detail. The list should include the names of product components, quantities, dimensions and corresponding technical parameters, etc., to facilitate the customer’s receipt and inventory. At the same time, full transportation insurance was purchased for the goods, covering risks such as loss and damage during transportation.

We assisted the client in handling the customs clearance procedures and safely transported the apple pods to the hotel park.

Customer feedback and operational outcomes

After the Apple Cabin was put into operation, it quickly became a “internet-famous” accommodation product of the tourist hotel. Hotel customers gave high praise to the performance of these five sets of Apple cabins.

The customer stated that the unique design of the Apple Cabin has attracted a large number of tourists to experience it. In the first month of opening, it achieved an occupancy rate of over 90%, and on weekends and holidays, it was even more difficult to find a room, bringing significant economic benefits to the hotel. Tourists also gave the Apple Cabin a very positive evaluation.   They thought that although the interior space was small, it was fully functional, comfortable to live in, and the design of the viewing window allowed them to enjoy the magnificent scenery of the Grand Canyon of Colorado while lying in bed, providing an excellent experience.

In terms of performance, despite several strong winds in the local area, the Apple cabin structure remained stable without any shaking or damage. During the hot summer, the temperature inside the cabin can be maintained within a comfortable range through air conditioning and exterior wall insulation design. In cold winter weather, it has good heat preservation performance and high heating operation efficiency. The hotel engineering supervisor mentioned: “The maintenance cost of the Apple cabin is very low. Since its operation, no major malfunctions have occurred. The water and electricity systems are operating stably, which has greatly reduced our operation and maintenance workload.
